Anonymous asked: No. It DOES NOT (I REPEAT: DOES NOT) give an artist “artistic license” to add a tiara to an OFFICIAL portrait. It’s against protocol, and it’s not what the artist was commissioned to do. Grace was apparently fond of the little diamond tiara, and I believe that one is part of the Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibit now.

Back in the day, royal women were often painted wearing tiaras they never wore in public. I can't claim to be anything close to an authority on Grace, but I do have a small collection of tiara photos of her and I've never seen her in anything similar to the pearl drop.

And you’ve never read any books on her? It’s mentioned in almost every book I’ve read about her, that she’s worn it, mostly for official portraits and galas that photos are rare finds. I believe she used to wear it frequently...

I got outbid on a Collier’s magazine with Grace and Rainier on the cover. :(
I really want a new blog theme… but I’m very picky. I have guidelines in mind of what I want, but after searching around, nothing has really stood out to me. Does anyone have any recommendations for good free theme sites?
