Yes, so this is the latest big news on Grace de Monaco.
I can’t say I’m happy about the news of the inaccuracies, but I also can’t say I’m surprised. I mean, this is the film that cast a 45-year-old botox victim to play a youthful 32-year-old Princess Grace.
Why does the tag search on my blog only yield 10 results? Is it my theme or is it like that for everyone?
I wonder why Paris Match items featuring Grace very rarely go up for auction on eBay?
Damn.
I was watching a Grace item on eBay and forgot about it last night because I was so tired and the auction ended. Someone else bid on it and won.
I am a sad, sad panda. :(

“I wonder if princess grace ever regretted giving up her career for her marriage” - Submitted by Anonymous
She never wanted to give up her career, and fought with Rainier a lot during the engagement about the possibility of her continuing to act in movies. But Rainier actively hated show business and the people involved in it, and thought acting was an unseemly profession for a princess. He was also very angry about the idea of any potential love scenes she mit have. Yet at the same time he made their wedding into a documentary, which really upset Grace. It almost made her back out of the marriage.
I’m curious as to where you read these things, because they seem slightly inaccurate. I wouldn’t be surprised (at all) if Grace regretted giving up her career, but it would surprise me if they “fought a lot” during the engagement for a few reasons. The engagement was rather short, Grace really wanted to get married, and she wasn’t really the type to fight.
I’m also not sure it’s true that Rainier hated show business people. For one thing, before Grace, he was involved with another actress, Gisele Pascal. After he and Grace married, he became great friends with a lot of her Hollywood friends (David Niven and Frank Sinatra, to name a couple) and a lot of her Hollywood friends were often invited to the palace.
Lastly, Rainier did not make their wedding into a documentary. He had no part in that at all. In order for Grace to get out of her contract with MGM, she negotiated a deal where she could get out of the remaining few years of the contract and they could film and advertise the wedding. Both Rainier and Grace hated the spectacle of the wedding and wished they were able to have a much smaller, more private celebration. So you could even say that the reason for the big wedding was so that Grace wouldn’t have to fulfill her acting responsibilities.
Now, why they didn’t just wait to get married is completely beyond me… though I think they were both in a rush to have a family.
Wow… I think that quote of Grace’s is rather sad. The saddest thing to me is that she didn’t continue to make films and spend more time honing her craft. :(

“Had Princess Grace lived, I wonder what she would have been like and what things she would have accomplished in the past 30 years.” - Submitted by Anonymous
In fact, that photo reminded me of that phrase that I used to use a long time ago on GK/Hitch fan art. Now I’m thinking of changing the name of the blog to “The Master and the Muse.” Thoughts?
Sometimes I wish Grace had never left Hollywood to become Princess of Monaco. She had such potential and talent, who knows what we could have seen from her if she had continued to make films throughout her life?
It seems like she and Rainier were in quite the hurry to get married… so much so that she didn’t fulfill her contract with MGM. Supposedly, Rainier was under pressure to produce an heir for the principality and I know Grace really wanted to have a family as well, but I suppose 4 more years was too long for her to wait… :(
